Centre des auteurs dramatiques (CEAD)</a> have joined forces for a fourth edition of
<a href="https://playwrightsguild.ca/surefire/" id="OWAf0a83e95-d747-9ad7-d38d-676f213d7ce7" class="OWAAutoLink" data-loopstyle="linkonly" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">
SureFire</a>. This time around, we will focus solely on Francophone works, but we need your help to make it happen!</span></p>

<p style="margin: 0cm;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">To explain, SureFire was inspired by the American
<a href="https://thekilroys.org/" id="OWA129160e8-779a-5596-4cab-0471a8b24f56" class="OWAAutoLink" data-loopstyle="linkonly" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">
Kilroys</a> initiative, which provides an annual list of under- or un-produced plays by women, trans, and non-binary playwrights as a means of providing “a tool for producers committed to ending systemic underrepresentation.” PGC’s Women’s Caucus undertook
a similar project with <a href="https://playwrightsguild.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/SureFire-2018-Intro-Doc-Rvsd.pdf" id="OWAdcfe4dd0-469f-3c43-f22a-0e543349c1cf" class="OWAAutoLink" data-loopstyle="linkonly" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">
SureFire 2018</a>, <a href="https://playwrightsguild.ca/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/SureFire-2020-FINAL.pdf" id="OWAdcf58b6d-24b1-a866-08a1-8047f6a1e6e5" class="OWAAutoLink" data-loopstyle="linkonly" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">
SureFire 2020</a>, and <a href="https://playwrightsguild.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/SureFire-2022.pdf" id="OWAb0854070-745c-5eed-67fc-8a8b299cf26f" class="OWAAutoLink" data-loopstyle="linkonly" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">
SureFire 2022</a>. The purpose of SureFire is to increase the profile or women, two spirit, trans, and nonbinary (W2STNB) playwrights, and to provide artistic directors, producers, educators, and others with a community-generated resource to help find (and
hopefully produce and study) plays by W2STNB creators. SureFire provides an avenue of redress for the underrepresentation, lack of voice, and paucity of plays by W2STNB, and this time around, it will also help to bridge the divide between the “two solitudes,”
encouraging cross-pollination and the staging of Francophone works (in translation and straight up) across Canada.</span></p>

Playwrights Canada Press is celebrating our 40th Anniversary with a<br>
fabulous Book Launch Bash, and you’re cordially invited!<br>

Join us for a fun and festive evening as we showcase readings by renowned<br>
dramatists and offer an exclusive on-site book sale with a 40% discount on<br>
all items to honour forty years of outstanding Canadian dramatic literature.<br>

The festivities will be hosted by award-winning journalist and culture<br>
critic, *Aisling Murphy*, and graced by special appearances from *Jill<br>
Carter, Amanda Cordner, Jeff D’Hondt, Thomas McKechnie, Kat Sandler, Erin<br>
Shields, Pamela Mala Sinha, Mohammad Yaghoubi,* and *David Yee*.<br>
