Relax, and don’t rush your treatment</i>” by Andre Picard is timely disingenuous given that Sep is PCa Awareness month.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The writing is mostly a re-hash of past & currently circulating information that has appeared on a number of US blogs relating to PCa.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Particularly inflammatory is the statement “In Canada, routine PSA tests are not recommended”.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>This flies in the face of the <i>Prostate Cancer Canada Recommends </i>rack card suggesting the establishment of a PSA baseline at age 40.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>See attachment.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I am a Prostate Cancer survivor due to the discovery of early stage PCa via having established a baseline PSA level and tracking an increase.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I now chair the prostate cancer support group in Waterloo- Wellington as well as being a member of similar groups in Toronto & Brampton.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The last 3 new members to join PCCN W-W have metastatic PCa which clearly indicate a lack of timely PSA testing.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Perhaps Andre or a health reporter would care to attend one of the PCCN W-W support group meetings and meet a man with metastatic PCa.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Perhaps his/her perspective of PSA testing might undergo some enlightenment.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Thank you, <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Glen<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:blue'>Glen N.
