Hey everyone,
So we confirmed the time and location for our Flint Knapping Workshop,
and it will be held on Tuesday, February 10^th , from 6-7:30 pm in PAS
2086. Here you will learn some techniques used to make stone tools, and
even try the techniques out yourself with provided chert or flint. The
workshop is completely free and we welcome anyone who is interested in
coming! If you cannot attend the whole time slot because you have a
class, you’re welcome to come or leave as you like.
In addition, we also have a date confirmed for a trip to the Toronto
Zoo. We will be going on Saturday, February 28^th , however further
details have not been yet confirmed. This should be both a fun and
educational experience as it serves as a chance to meet new people,
explore the zoo, and learn about primate behaviour as our departmental
primatologist, Dr. Zeller, will be coming along as well.
We will email you further details about the zoo trip once times, methods
of transportation, and fees have been confirmed. In the meantime, we
hope to see you at our next event, and as always, feel free to bring a
friend along!
Cheers,
Erin (estieler at uwaterloo.ca <mailto:estieler at uwaterloo.ca>)
