Hi everyone,

AnthSoc would like to invite you to our first camping trip to Camp
Everton in Rockwood, ON (close to Guelph). The trip will be taking
place from Friday November 11th - Sunday November 13th (a good way to
relax before exam time starts!) and will be led by our own Professor
Rob MacDonald.

The property is on the Eramosa River, and there is an amazing array of
micro-environments and bedrock geological features in the vicinity,
including glacial "potholes" carved by meltwater at the end of the
Pleistocene. There is also at least one pre-contact Aboriginal
archaeological site and an historic Euro-Canadian archaeological site.

Activities that people on the trip can participate in include (but are
not limited to):
- hikes looking at natural & cultural history
- archery range
- climbing wall
- obstacle course
- outdoor skills
- workshop on assessing archaeological potential and possibly some
shovel-test pit survey
- bows & arrows
- orientation / cartography
- campfires and good times outdoors

In order to book this trip we need people to show interest and RSVP by
October 31st. Price and other details will be confirmed once we get
an accurate number of attendees - but we would like to keep costs
under $40/person.

Please email uwanthsoc at gmail.com to RSVP or ask questions regarding the trip.

Cheers,
AnthSoc
