Hello Bill,
The Beyond Borders program at St. Jerome's University is recruiting
students for the 2014-2015 cohort are we would really appreciate your
support. Beyond Borders combines a 90-day international volunteer placement
abroad with 2 academic classes. It is an amazing opportunity to combine
classroom learning with real world experiences. This year students will be
volunteering in Kenya, Uganda, Ukraine, Ecuador, Peru, Botswana and the
Dominican Republic.
Could you please send the following information out to your contacts in the
Department of Arts. The majority of our students in the program are Arts
registered students and the program is open to all Arts students at the
University.
*We are currently recruiting students for the 2014-2015 cohort of the
Beyond Borders program! *
*Beyond Borders is an academically centered international service-learning
experience at St. Jerome's University. The program consists of 90-day
placement abroad with two terms of on-campus course work. Beyond Borders
takes upper year students out of their comfort zone and into the world. Our
Beyond Borders partners are in Peru, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic,
Ukraine, Kenya and Uganda. Students can use their Beyond Borders
international volunteer placement as a co-op work term or as their
international experience for the Global Experience Certificate. *
*Please forward this information to any students who would be a good fit
for the program. Many times students need a tap on the shoulder to take the
risk of applying to a program like Beyond Borders. Your encouragement and
support could make the difference. *
*More information and applications are available at
www.sju.ca/beyondborders <http://www.sju.ca/beyondborders>.*
*Thank you ,*
