Message-ID: Hello everyone, Before we step into that rushed time of the semester filled with midterms and assignments, AnthSoc would like to invite you all to a relaxed and fun evening with the Profs. Yes, we're going skating with the profs on January 30th at 6pm, which will be followed by dinner. Dinner will be held at either Beer Town or Symposium. For those who do not own skates you can always rent a pair from Rim Park Skate Shop. It costs you $10 per pair for the entire day and you can pick them up during their office hours: Monday 12pm to 6pm Tuesday to Friday 2pm to 8pm Saturday 10am to 5pm Sunday 11am to 4pm We highly encourage all anthropology students to take part in this event as it is laid back and provides you with a more casual environment to get to know your professors than your classrooms, and getting to know your professors is very beneficial as they can pass down a great deal of knowledge to you that are not necessarily covered in your classes. You can also get to know your other peers and start networking within your field. Hope to see you all on January 30th! Hi everyone, what a nice idea. Unfortunately, I am unable to join the crowd as I am in Toronto that afternoon to take an English test as part of my immigration to Canada. I hope that skating may come more naturally after that... Enjoy! The work will involve various tasks with my archaeological collections and related data. I anticipate that the work will include sorting, inventorying and packing faunal bones and artifacts. No previous experience is required but if I get more than two applications I will give preference to students who can demonstrate the following: • They have completed more than one course in archaeological Anthropology. • They are in their 3A or 3B terms and are considering doing an Honours project next year, or are in their 4A or 4B terms and have already applied to grad school in some aspect of Anthropology The position will be for four hours per week for seven weeks, starting after Reading Week, preferably from Monday February 23 through Friday April 10. I will work out the assistant's hours with him/her so that they will fit with his/her class schedule, but it will then be mandatory to work the same consistent time slot(s) every week. The time slots will need to be scheduled within regular working hours. I believe that the salary will be $18.18 per hour plus 14% benefits, for a total of $20.73 per hour. Students interested in applying for one of these positions should email me and I will then provide them with a link to the online application. The due date for applications is Monday February 9. ----------------------------------------------- Dr. Robert W.
