World expert, Dr. Octo Barnett (MD, FACP, FACMI, FAIMBE), will speak on "Why
Not Address Clinician Knowledge Management Needs?" (3:00 PM EST Wed. June
27, University of Waterloo). One of the fathers of health/biomedical
informatics, Dr. Barnett is a Professor, Harvard Medical School and a Senior
Research Director, Massachusetts General Hospital. 

Dr. Barnett is a recipient of the prestigious Morris F. Collen Award of
Excellence. Dr. Barnett has led active research programs in the application
of computer technology to computer-based medical record systems, physician
workstations, clinical problem solving, expert systems in medical diagnosis,
knowledge management, medical education, and clinical research. His current
projects include DXplainR, Primary Care Office Insite (PCOI) and Pulmonary
Artery Catheter Waveform Interpretation Tool (PACath).
