Subject: REMINDER: Seminar - June 27 - Clinician Knowledge Management Needs

Dr. Octo Barnett Seminar This Wednesday (Smarter Health Seminar 3:00PM EST
Wed. June 27, University of Waterloo. Webcast. Broadcast to OTN sites).
REGISTER NOW at: http://infranet.uwaterloo.ca

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND:

1. The topic is crucially important. You only need to read the newspapers or
watch TV to recognize that care providers are challenged in terms of making
complex decisions in a realm of exponentially-increasing information, new
threats (like H5N1 and SARS and other viruses), and a ridiculously busy and
information-overloaded environment. In response to the challenges, Dr.
Barnett developed DXplain, a web-based software which is widely recognized
as a major advance in clinical decision support.

2. Dr. Barnett (MD, FACP, FACMI, FAIMBE) has been "bloodied" in more than 50
years of working in biomedical/health informatics. It is genuinely hard to
find anyone else who has seen, experienced, and contributed so much. The
experiences he shares can benefit all of us.

3. In participating you will have the opportunity to listen to and question
a plain speaking physician. He will become a reference individual for you;
someone whose work is both impressive and applicable, and whose insights
will give us all new ways of thinking about a complex area.

Participate in real-time if you can, or access the archive a week later if
you're tied up that day. Just be sure to join us one way or another in this
opportunity.

This Smarter Health Seminar is in celebration of the University of
Waterloo's 50th Anniversary.
