Professor Homer-Dixon is Director of the Trudeau Centre for Peace and
Conflict Studies and Professor in the Department of Political Science at the
University of Toronto. He holds a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology and is one of the world's leading authorities on environmental
security and social adaptation to complex stress. The findings of his
groundbreaking research have been widely used by top security and foreign
policy agencies in Canada and the United States, including the U.S. State
Department, the CIA, and the National Security Council. Professor
Homer-Dixon has received U of T's Northrop Frye teaching award and the
Governor General's award for non-fiction for his best-seller, The Ingenuity
Gap.
