KinoFest Films Win German Film Awards

Dear members of the Faculty of Arts:

 

Two of the films in this week's KinoFest: New Films from Germany and Austria
won prizes this past weekend at the German National Film Awards. The
festival's opening film (this coming Wednesday), Edge of Heaven, won awards
for best film, best director (Fatih Akin, director of the 2004 hit Head On),
best screenplay and best editing. Nina Hoss, star of Saturday's film Yella
(and the person featured in the KinoFest advertising) won for best acting in
a female role. 

 

See these and three other recent German and Austrian films this week at the

KinoFest starts this week! From April 30th to May 4th five new German and
Austrian films can be seen at the Princess Cinema in Waterloo. The festival
is being held in conjunction with the Conference on Cinema and Social Change
