and Canadian Development Assistance *

The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) is one of the 
least-known Crown corporations in Canada, yet outside of this country, 
it is much appreciated and even revered.   Did you know that Nelson 
Mandela singled out the IDRC for special praise?  That it ran a secret 
operation to get academics out of Uganda under Idi Amin? 

*Join us* /Tuesday, December 9, 2008/ at 7/:00 p.m/. in the /James J. 
Brown Auditorium/ at the /Waterloo Public Library/.  Bruce Muirhead, 
Associate Dean, Graduate Studies & Research will present a photographic 
history of IDRC activities and Centre funded projects like the Dakar, 
Senegal dump and M'Beubeuss.
