Subject: Jewish Studies Lecture

The Jewish Studies programme cordially invites all faculty, staff and
students to a public lecture on MONDAY 5 JUNE at 7:30 pm in St. Jerome's
Sigfried Hall, University of Waterloo.

The speaker will be Dr. Menachem Kellner of the University of Haifa.

His topic is : The New Face of Anti-Semitism - Anti-Israel Obsession and
Academic Boycotts.

"Recent years have seen repeated calls for boycotting Israeli academia.
What is the real story behind those boycotts? Why is Israel singled out
in such a fashion? Is anti-Zionism nothing more than good old-fashioned
anti-Semitism? These questions will be addressed by a distinguished
professor at the University of Haifa where Arab and Jewish scholars
co-operate freely, 20% of the student population is Arab, and the Dean
of Research is Majid al Haj".

Free Admission. There will be a reception after the talk.

Professor Paul Socken
Founder
Jewish Studies
