Greetings.

Critical Media Lab (CML) is pleased to invite you to its final project
of the year, completed in collaboration with Ron Broglio, the CML's
Visiting Artist/Researcher.

Project Launch and Reception: Friday, December 11, 7:00 pm, Critical
Media Lab, 191 King Street East (across from Kitchener City Hall)

DAIRY DIARY is a three-pronged collaborative project by Ron Broglio
and the Critical Media Lab (CML).

OUTDOOR VIDEO ON BERLIN TOWER (Dec 11 - Jan 1)
High above Kitchener City Hall, dairy cows challenge our
stereotypes and misconceptions of the rural world that
surrounds us. Perhaps farmers are the region’s most
adventurous and successful digital entrepreneurs.

“DAIRY SHARES” IN CRITICAL MEDIA LAB (Dec 11 - Jan 1)
This participatory video sculpture invites you to purchase
a “share” in a plastic model cow, and write about dairy on
the animal’s body. This project situates the dairy cow as
a globalized economic and genetic product of inscription.
Proceeds will benefit a local food bank and subsidize the
purchase of a dairy cow for an African village.

“TEAT TWEET” (Dec 11, 2009 - Dec 11, 2010)
A local dairy farmer has selected 12 cows from his farm
to generate year-long Twitter feeds about their robotic
milking activities. Follow the ladies through various stages
of lactation as they confront the robots, report their daily
yields, and quote lines of poetry from Virgil’s _Georgics_.

Hope to see you there.
Best,
