2009/2010 Public Lecture Series
The Department of Anthropology is proud to present Dr. Sian Evans, our
second guest lecturer in this year's Public Lecture series. Her lecture is
entitled "Anthropoid Adventure: A Journey Establishing a Primate
Conservancy".
Dr. Evans, who is a specialist in New World Monkeys, was fundamental in
establishing the DuMond Conservancy at Monkey Jungle in Miami, Florida. She
will be discussing her experiences in setting up a non-profit educational
and research-based organization for the study of primates. This talk will
interest anthropologists, biologists, environmentalists, and those who may
wish to establish a non-profit research organization.
Her lecture will take place on Thursday, November 12, 2009, 4:00 - 5:00 pm
in PAS 1229, followed by a Reception in the PAS Lounge, PAS 3005.
