Faculty, Staff and Students in Arts are cordially invited to attend the
next lecture in Jewish Studies on Thursday 18 March at 7:30 pm.

The lecture will take place in St. Jerome's Siegfried Hall, Room 1030.

Our guest speaker is Dr. Michael Higgins, currently of Sacred Heart
University.

His topic is "Luminous and Vexed -- Benedict XVI and the Jews: A
Contorted Alliance".

"Joseph Ratzinger, Benedict XVI, is a theologian of the first order, a
writer of great subtlety and insight, and a thinker capable of arresting
epiphanies. Although John Paul II's trusted and long term ally,
Benedict's relationship with the Jewish community, unlike that of his
predecessor, has been fraught with misunderstandings, missteps, and
media miscalculations. Why? What gives? What is really going on?"

The lecture is free, refreshments will be served and all are welcome.
