Please forward to your students the following information about the new
interdisciplinary Visual Culture program at UW:
In Fall 2011, UW is launching a new program in Visual Culture. This is an
interdisciplinary initiative that examines the role of visual culture in
society from a variety of perspectives and is comprised of courses in Fine
Arts, English, Germanic and Slavic, Drama, Speech Communication, Digital
Arts Communication, Philosophy, Women's Studies, Religious Studies,
Classical Studies, Spanish, and Architecture.
There are three plans associated with the Visual Culture program:
Minor - Visual Culture in a Global Context
Major - Art History and Visual Culture
Major - Film Studies and Visual Culture

The core Visual Culture courses are:
VCULT 101 - running this Fall 2011 (no pre-reqs or reserves)
VCULT 100 - running Winter 2012
VCULT 200 - scheduled for 2012-13
VCULT 300 - scheduled for 2013-14
