Digital Media Series: Virtual Worlds & Augmented Reality: Implications for Marketing

This talk provides an overview of virtual worlds and augmented reality -- technological innovations that can either immerse users into virtual environments where they can interact with digital objects or provide users of real-world environments and objects with digitally generated layers of content and context. Modern examples of trends in virtual worlds and augmented reality will be discussed in terms of their impact and application to the field of marketing. Future directions in this area will also be explored.
