Greetings.

This Wednesday, 15 English grad students from the Critical Media Lab will present 4 games based on a semester of readings in the context of what we're calling "necromedia," the collusion of death and technology. The games range from a dystopic augmented reality GPS adventure to a contemplative exercise in "human finitude" that relies on a wireless brainwave sensor. And there is much in between.

These are speculative games, objects-to-think-with, applied media theories, and they fall somewhere between digital art and philosophical investigation.

Find out more about them here (click on "COURSE BLOGS"):

Please join us for presentations, demonstrations, play, interaction, conversation, and refreshment at The Communitech Hub, in the old Tannery Building in Downtown Kitchener. Come out and support these brilliant and hard-working English students who are extending the boundaries of their discipline.

Wednesday, March 28
2 - 4 pm
The Tannery
151 Charles Street West

Special thanks to Communitech for funding the reception.

Hope to see you on Wednesday.

Best,
m.
