Dear faculty and staff:
At tomorrow's noon hour concert (12:30 pm in the chapel), Susie Napper and Margaret Little-viola da gambists-will transport us back to the music of King Louis XIVth's court. Relax over your lunch hour with their warm, intimate sound.

Here is what some of the reviewers are saying:

"The performers clearly speak this music as if it were their mother tongue. They revealed not just the music's charms, but also the sensuality and soul..." National Post (Canada)

"Canadian ensemble Les Voix humaines, joined by guest gambist Wieland Kuijken, bring their usual elegant and sensitive playing to this quintessentially French music." Early Music America (USA)

"The interpretation they give us here - technically unequaled, sensitive, extremely expressive, rich in colors, and also full of spirit - is striking evidence of the grandeur of Sainte-Colombe." Toccata (Germany)

Then tomorrow night, the Instrumental Chamber Ensembles will be performing in the first of two concerts this week. Their other concert (entirely different program) will be on Sunday evening, December 2. Both concerts take place at 7:30 pm in the chapel, with a reception to follow.

I look forward to seeing some of you at these concerts,
Julie Nash Armes, Assistant
