“Grading the ungradeable – is trying to grade participation worth it?”

Kevin Markle will share his experiences with assessing students on their class participation both in class and online in his course AFM 361, Taxation.

Kevin used a variety of participation measures in this course, including contributing to class discussion, postings to an online discussion and a self-assessment component. All participants at the session will be encouraged to share how they have assessed students on participation in their courses and there will be a discussion of the level of objectivity that we can use to grade participation and the weighting of this component in a course grading scheme.

Please join us for this session, Friday, March 15th, 10:30 – 11:30 in the Flex Lab and pass this invitation on to any of your colleagues who might have an interest in this topic - all are welcome.
