THOMAS KING has worked as an activist for Native causes, as an administrator in Native programs, and taught Native American Studies at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada, and at the University of Minnesota.

He is currently a Professor of English at the University of Guelph. King was the first Aboriginal person to deliver the prestigious Massey Lectures, and is also the bestselling, award-winning author of five novels and two collections of short stories.

He is also the creator of The Dead Dog Cafe Comedy Hour, a CBC Radio One series.

Thomas King lives in Guelph.

He will be on campus to read from his latest work: An Inconvenient Indian.

Tackling some of the most difficult events in our continent¹s history, The Inconvenient Indian is at once wide-ranging and incisive ­ and always fascinating and fair. As he delicately balances the gravity of profoundly divisive issues with humour, optimism and intelligence, King both charms and informs. The Inconvenient Indian is powerful, important reading for all Canadians.
