Hello everyone,
For something completely different, we have a multimedia liturgical event happening this Wednesday at 12:30pm. This is "The Story of Hagar", told by Dr. Cheryl Pauls (CMU President) in a way you have not heard before.
The Story of Hagar is a creative retelling of the Biblical story from the book of Genesis. Hagar tells this story as a virtual, invited guest - the story of her son Ishmael, his father Abram, as well as her mistress Sarai and Sarai's son Isaac. Readings, music, and visuals help to illustrate this timeless story that has elements of promise, covenant, and blessing, not to mention the pain of banishment, jealousy, and indifference. A poem by Hafiz, the influential 12th Century Persian poet, helps inform the story from a different religious perspective. Please join in the group readings and songs during this 40 minute presentation.
Please come and join us. If you can't make it at 12:30 pm , it will be repeated at the 4:30 pm Chapel Service. Thanks.

Angelica
