Hello everyone,

Please note the following event at Grebel to which you are cordially invited:

Tuesday, May 20, 7:30 pm. Grebel Chapel

Bertha Von Suttner: A Life of Peace:

Concert and Exhibit

Conrad Grebel University College is pleased to host a concert and exhibit in celebration of Bertha Von Suttner, an avid peace activist and the first woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1906 for her most famous novel "Lay Down your Arms".

Violinist Elena Denisova and her husband, pianist Alexei Kornienko, were selected by the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to perform a commemoration concert internationally in conjunction with this exhibit. The program will feature music by Strauss, Janacek, and two commissioned works by Maximillian Kreuz, and Dieter Kaufmann.

We are delighted that Austrian Ambassador to Canada, Arno Riedel, will be attending this event.

Admission is free. A reception and the unveiling of the exhibit will follow the concert in the Grebel Gallery.
