This Thursday, March 10, the Department of Sociology & Legal Studies presents the annual James E. Curtis Memorial Lecture<https://uwaterloo.ca/sociology-and-legal-studies/events/james-e-curtis-memorial-lecture> featuring Chief Wilton Littlechild, one of the three commissioners of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission<http://www.trc.ca/websites/trcinstitution/index.php?p=3> (TRC), speaking about the TRC's 94 Calls to Action for all Canadians.
Chief Wilton (Willie) Littlechild is a former Member of Parliament and respected lawyer. He is a strong advocate for the rights of Indigenous Peoples and promotes implementation of the treaties between the Indigenous Peoples of Canada and the Crown (now represented by the Government of Canada).
