The Precarious Diasporas of Sikh and Ahmadiyya Generations - Canadian Dimensions
Dr. Michael Nijhawan
Department of Sociology, York University

In this presentation, Dr. Michael Nijhawan will discuss his recently published work on "precarious diasporas," focusing on the issue of memory work as it is generated and carried by a younger generation of Sikhs and Ahmadiyya Muslims. Dr. Nijhawan examines institutional sites in the legal, political, social and religious fields to better understand how the governance of religion affects religious identities today.
