Have you recently traveled to a conference to deliver a talk on gender equity? Taken a workshop or attended a presentation or a training session on gender and social justice? Would you like to do one of these things, or something similar, soon?

The Arts HeForShe Travel Awards<http://https://uwaterloo.ca/arts/arts-heforshe-travel-awards> provide funds for students, staff and faculty to travel to access equity training and experience. The funds can cover travel advances for travel in the future or reimburse you for travel that was recently completed.

If you are a staff member, student, or faculty member in ARTS and there is an equity-related conference or training opportunity coming up over the spring/summer 2017 that you’d like to attend, you should apply. Or if you’ve recently completed travel or training related to equity, you should apply.

Successful applicants will be ensured a minimum of $250 in funding.

How to apply

  * Please send a brief (maximum 200 words) proposal to Professor Jay Dolmage, HeForShe Arts faculty advocate<https://uwaterloo.ca/heforshe/people-profiles/jay-dolmage>, dolmage<mailto:dolmage at uwaterloo.ca>@uwaterloo.ca<mailto:dolmage at uwaterloo.ca>, by April 14th, 2017.
  * Proposals should state how this activity relates to equity issues, and what your personal goals are for the activity.
  * ARTS HeForShe faculty and student representatives will adjudicate the proposals.
  * Awarded individuals are expected to work with administrative staff to properly file the paperwork required to access the funds.

If you are unsure whether an activity would qualify for this funding, just ask Jay Dolmage<mailto:dolmage at uwaterloo.ca>.
