Invitation to "Beyond Essays: Approaching Peace Education Differently"

The Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS<https://uwaterloo.ca/peace-conflict-studies/>) department is celebrating its 40th anniversary with an art exhibit entitled, "Beyond Essays: Approaching Peace Education Differently", in partnership with the Grebel Gallery, part of the Kindred Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement (CPA<https://uwaterloo.ca/centre-peace-advancement/>).

For the last ten years, the PACS department has provided students with the opportunity to submit an arts-based research assignment instead of the traditional essay. These arts-based assignments give students the opportunity to convey their research and to express their learning in an alternative format. This event will celebrate the PACS department's inclusive and creative approach to teaching, and elevate the CPA's strategic commitment to peace through artistic expression.

We hope you can join us on Thursday, January 18th at 4:00pm in the Grebel Gallery<https://uwaterloo.ca/centre-peace-advancement/grebel-gallery> for a special launch event and refreshments to celebrate the art produced by PACS students.
