During Doors Open Waterloo Region<https://www.eventbrite.ca/o/doors-open-waterloo-region-10901280514> this weekend, visit Brubacher House on our campus for a talk by Kenneth McLaughlin, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of History.

DATE & TIME: Saturday, Sept. 17, 3 to 4 PM
LOCATION: Brubacher House Museum, west end of Frank Tompa Drive

This illustrated talk will look at the 1850 Brubacher House in the context of the University of Waterloo's 1,000-acre campus, explaining its historical role, the reasons for its preservation, and how the land around it has changed over the centuries. Comparison will be made to nearby architecture in the David Johnston Research + Technology Park..

Kenneth McLaughlin is Distinguished Professor of History at the University of Waterloo. He served as Professor of History and also as Chair of the Waterloo Regional Heritage Foundation, and was involved in the preservation of the Brubacher House as a centre of historical interest.
