Dec. 1 Indigenous Speakers Series presents Dr. Talena Atfield

Please mark your calendar for Dec. 1 at 3 PM to join the Indigenous Speakers Series! We’re honoured to present Dr. Talena Atfield, member of the Kanien’kehá:ka Nation of the Six Nations of the Grand River, and a professor of History at Waterloo.

Focusing on her work with Hodinohso:ni basket weavers, Dr. Atfield will speak about Western notions of the origins of Indigenous artistic practices versus the importance of arts and creation within the community. She will be joined by UWaterloo Indigenous research colleagues for a moderated Q and A.
