“Giorgia Meloni: Populism and Femonationalism, Italian Style”

Ruth Glynn is Professor of Modern Italian Culture at the University of Bristol. Her research focuses on modern and contemporary Italian culture, and ranges across critical thought, collective memory dynamics and issues of gender. A monograph on Naples and the role it plays in the Italian cultural imaginary of the Second Republic is nearing completion. Previous research addressed Italy’s experience of political violence in the 1970s, focusing on gender, trauma and the cultural construction of terrorist and victim. Key publications include Women, Terrorism, and Trauma in Italian Culture (2013), and the co-edited volumes Terrorism, Italian Style (2012) and Remembering Aldo Moro (2012).
