A Special Lecture by Dr. Alison Phipps on October 23

This is a reminder to please join us on Monday, October 23 for a special lecture by UNESCO Chair and University of Waterloo Honorary Doctorate recipient Alison Phipps on Hospitality: Refugee Integration through Languages, Spirituality, and Arts.


Dr. Alison Phipps has spent much of her career supporting the integration of refugees and newcomers into their new communities by exploring the role of arts & languages. Her lecture will draw on her many years of working in a variety of international settings to explore how arts-based methods enable intercultural dialogue, challenge yet also facilitate the amelioration of xenophobia, and are a vital element in the work of integrating refugees and communities.
