[Spanish and Latin American Studies]

Please join us for the opening of the Afro Latin American Film Festival<https://uwaterloo.ca/spanish/afro-latin-american-film-festival>, held in collaboration with the Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies, the Black Studies program, Kitchener Public Library, and the PRAGDA Film Club.

Our first film, A Bruddah’s Mind/Cabeça de Nêgo (Déo Cardoso / Brazil / 2020 / 86 min), will be screened in-person at the Kitchener Public Library theatre (KPL Central Branch, 85 Queen Street North) on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 6:30pm. There is no charge for this event, but registration is required<https://kpl.events.mylibrary.digital/event?id=66541>. Professor Mario Boido and Vershawn Young will provide a brief introduction to the film and lead a post-screening discussion with the audience. Light refreshments will be served.
