Digital Feminist Network Summit 2025 | April 14-16

Coming up April 14–16, DigFemNet is hosting its first-ever Summit at the University of Waterloo—and you’re invited to be part of it. The summit features several public sessions, including the Early Career Scholar Show & Shares, a Keynote by Dr. Radhika Gajjala from Bowling Green State University, and workshops that range from silkscreening protest media to making zines to learning about data collection and management.
The Digital Feminist Network (DigFemNet) is a recently established initiative that brings together feminist and queer scholars from across Canada to confront some of the most pressing challenges in our digital world—online hate, digital inequity, and technology-facilitated gender-based violence.
Co-directed by Dr. Brianna Wiens (English Language & Literature) and Dr. Shana MacDonald (Communication Arts), DigFemNet brings together researchers from five partner institutions: University of Waterloo, McMaster University, University of Ottawa, York University, and University of Guelph. Together, we’re working to better understand how misogynist hate operates—both online and offline—and to build inventive, community-driven ways to resist it.
