The Department of Sexuality, Marriage, & Family Studies* invites you to their 12th Annual Research Symposium at St. Jerome's on Monday, April 7, "Hit Me With It": Clapping Back at the Manosphere on Social Media with Neil Shyminsky (aka "Professor Neil" on social media<https://www.instagram.com/professor_neil/>).

Who and what is a manfluencer? What does he want? How does he do it? And most importantly, how do we stop him?

In this talk, Neil Shyminsky will trace the origin of the Manosphere and describe some of its major movements, motivations, and players. He'll also describe the work of the de-manfluencers (himself included!) hitting back at them and the strategies - many of them taken from academia, some of them contested and controversial - that we employ.
