POSITION FOR SCHOLAR/TEACHER
The Department of Theatre and Drama and Women's Studies Program at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison are pleased to announce a national search for
a joint tenure-track appointment in feminist theory, criticism, and Women's
Studies/Feminist Studies at Assistant Professor level unless qualifications
require appointment at higher rank. Position begins fall semester, 1995.
Tenure home is in Theatre and Drama. Appointment in Women's Studies will be
at either 25% or 50%. Teaching load is two courses per semester. In
Theatre and Drama the position includes teaching Introduction to
Contemporary Feminist Theatre and Criticism, Theatre and Society, graduate
seminars and occasional lower division courses such as Writing about
Theatre & Performance or World Drama and Theatre; serving on M.A., M.F.A.,
and Ph.D. committees; and serving on departmental committees. In Women's
Studies the position includes teaching courses such as feminist theory,
introduction to Women's Studies, and other interdisciplinary courses in the
humanities, and service on Women's Studies committees.
Successful candidates should have expertise in feminist theory,
criticism, and performance, and a background in Women's Studies/feminist
studies. Additional expertise in theatre practice is desirable. Teaching
experience, record of publication, and Ph.D. in hand by September 1995
