ANNUAL CONFERENCE 1995
 
The annual ACTR conference for 1995 will be held 27/28/29 May at
Universite du Quebec a MOntreal as part of the Learned Societies
Conference.
 
While proposals on any topic of interest to the Association are
being sought, our theme is
 
LA MISE EN SCENE
 
Reading mise en scene.  Defining mise en scene.  FUnctions and
problems of mise en scene.
Mise en scene and the actor . . . and scenography . . . and the
material conditions of production . . . and rehearsal.
Mise en scene and dramaturgy . . . and stage directions.
Mise en scene and the other arts . . . and pluri, multi or
interdisciplinarity.
Mise en scene and popular theatre . . . and feminist theatre . .
. and theatre for young audiences . . . and amateur theatre.
Directing and directors.  Teaching/learning mise en scene.
Mise en scene in radio production, in television production, in
films . . .  and in sports.
Mise en scene and reception.
etc etc etc
 
Please note that proposals on non-Canadian and non-Quebecois
topics may be considered if they can be included by the Executive
and the program committee in such a way as to serve the mandate
of the Association.
 
Proposals for PAPERS, PERFORMANCE PAPERS, PANELS,
LECTURE-DEMONSTRATIONS, WORKSHOPS in the form of a 300-word
abstract, in either English or French, should be sent in 5 copies
no later than November 15, 1994 to:

You will be notified by the 15th of February on whether your
paper has been accepted.
 
THE FESTIVAL OF THE AMERICAS WILL TAKE PLACE BETWEEN MAY 24TH AND
JUNE 6TH 1995.  FESTIVAL PROGRAMME TO BE ANNOUNCED IN MARCH.

Veuillez noter que les propositions sur des sujets non-Canadiens
ou non-Quebecois seront prises en consideration si elles peuvent
etre incluses par l'Executif et le comite scientifique de facon a
rejoindre le mandat de l'Association.
 
Les propositions de communication, conference-performance, table
de discussion, conference-demonstration, atelier, resumees en 300
mots et redigees en anglais ou en francais, doivent parvenir en
cinq exemplaires a l'adresse ci-dessous avant le 15 november
