One-Act Plays Wanted!!!

Studio Z, a nonprofit organization based in Chicago (for more info about us
check: http://pubweb.acns.nwu.edu/~dzellner/studioz.html) is proud to
announce the first test of its Playwright in Electronic Residence (PIER)
program. The test site will be at North Park
College in Chicago. Here are the details:

-The PIER program -
The goal of the PIER program is to establish electronic residencies for
playwrights at "host" universities and theatres around the world in order to
develop new work and promote cultural exchange. The program consists of a
developmental workshop of a "visiting" playwright's script at a "host"
institution. Throughout the workshop the "visitiing" playwright and the
"host" institution communicate via e-mail; exchanging notes, comments, and
insights regarding the work. The workshop culminates in a performance at the
"host" university or theatre.

-North Park College -
North Park College is a four year liberal arts college located on Chicago's
northwest side. The college enrolls more than 1600 students from across the
U.S. and 23 foreign coutries. North Park College has been recognized since
1989 as one of the best liberal arts colleges in the Midwest.

-Martin Glynn (North Park PIER Coordinator) -
Martin Glynn's educational background includes a PhD in theatre history and
criticism from the University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana); an MFA in
acting from the University of Missouri at Kansas City; an MA in English from
the University of Sydney (Australia); an MA in English from Ohio State
University (Columbus, Ohio); and a BA in English from Northern Illinois
University (DeKalb).

Martin has worked extensively as an actor and director and currently
teaches at North Park College. As a director, he has mounted productions in
Australia, at the University of Sydney, and most recently in Chicago for
North Park College. Martin studied abroad, in not only Australia but
Britain, and is very much excited about the possibility of connecting with
people around the world; of learning more about them, their ideas, and their
cultures; and of developing new and engaging scripts.
