Brooks McNamara (NYU Performance Studies) and Marvin Carlson
(CUNY Ph.D. Program in Theatre) have recently started an informational
newsletter entitled "POPULAR CULTURE AND PERFORMANCE". Its
goal is to disseminate information on conferences, exhibitions, lectures,
courses, new publications, collections, etc. which might be helpful to
scholars, students, and professionals interested in popular culture and
performance/entertainment. It has an interdisciplinary focus and covers a
wide range of interests including hip hop, toy theatres, and Disney.
The next issue will be sent out in the middle of December 1995. It will
cover events, courses, etc. from December 1995 into the spring of 1996
(April or thereabouts).
We are looking for information to include in the upcoming issue of the
newsletter. If you have, or know of, upcoming publications, courses,
conferences, exhibitions or the like dealing with popular culture and
performance, we would love to include them in the newsletter. Please be
as specific as you can about date, time and location, but any and all leads
would be helpful.
We are also instituting a new section of the newsletter which will print
QUERIES.
If you can help us with any of this, would like to have your query
included, or would like more information about the newsletter, please
email me, Erin Hurley, before 1 December 1995 at:
EJH at CUNYVMS1.GC.CUNY.EDU
Thanks.
