I agree entirely with you. I'm not sure why my admittedly vague
suggestion that "all productions are adaptations" implies that there is
an absolute final text. The fact that _all_ productions are new readings
includes the "original" (first production? first published version? first
draft version? first concept?).  At least this is what I meant. I would
very much like to know, however, how what I said led to your
interpretation because clearly what I _meant_ was not what I said.
