I'm not an expert on the Chautauguq and you might know of these
already but here a few sources to begin with:
 
1  Jameson, Sheilagh S. and Nola B. Erickson.  _Chautauqua in Canada_.
     Calgary: Glenbow-Alberta Institute, 1979.
 
2  Jameson, Sheilagh S.  Entry on "Chautauqua" in _The Oxford
     Companion to Canadian Theatre_.  1989.
 
3  DuVernet, Sylvia.  _The Muskoka Assembly of the Canadian
     Chautauqua Institute: points of view and personalities_.  1985.
 
4  The bibliographies of Canadian theatre by John Ball and Richard
     Plant probably list some articles on the Chautauqua and
     individuals involved in it.
