CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Due date: 1 December 1996
ACTR/ARTC CONFERENCE 1997
The annual conference for 1997 will be held May 30 - June 3 at Memorial
University of Newfoundland as part of the Learned Societies Conference.
While proposals on any topic of interest to the Association are being
sought, we invite members to consider this theme:
Theatre and Theatre Research: Communications, Communicating...-
transistions, transmissions towards the 21st Century...
The Executive encourages members to consider communications,
communicating, transitions and transmissions as widely as possible in all
types of theatre, audience and media. It is the mandate of the
ACTR/ARTC to support and encourage research in theatre and performance
studies in Canada, with a special interest in Canadian work. PRACTICAL
and theoretical approaches are encouraged.
Proposals in the form of a 300-word abstract, in either English or
French, should be sent in five (5) copies not later than 1 December
1996, to the address below.
You will be notified by February 15, 1997 as to whether your paper has
been accepted. If your paper is accepted, you must send a copy of your
abstract (in both French and English if possibe) to the editor of the
newsletter before March 1, 1997, for publication in the Spring issue.
