FIRT/IFTR XIIIth World Congress
Canterbury, UK, 6-12 July 1998

"Theatre and Theatre Research: Exploring the Limits"

Call for Papers
The Department of Drama within the School of Arts and Image Studies
at the University of Kent looks forward to the honour of hosting the
XIIIth FIRT/IFTR World Congress, with collaboration from the Society for
Theatre Research, on the university campus at Canterbury. The emphasis of
this Congress will be on the challenges which our discipline faces as it
seeks to extend the limits of its research and critical discourse.

Keynote Speakers - by invitation

Conference Papers - describing or reporting new research are invited from
delegates.

Shorter Reports - as an alternative to a paper, delegates will have the
opportunity to present recent research in Posters where their work is
briefly described, and a Speakers' Corner where interested delegates can
meet them.

Postgraduate Forum - to enable postgraduate students completing their
doctoral dissertation to discuss their research and methodology.

Working Groups - pursuing an independent and on-going research programme
organized by a convenor, who selects papers and determines the method of
presentation.
