Pre-WW2 research project

Assistance by subscribers will be much appreciated; I am looking for
information about plays, films and entertainments (as well as literary
works) especially from western Canada, pre-WW2, taking up immigration
issues, Yellow Peril and Japanese invasion threat themes, for research
on the treatment of Japan in the performing arts. Most of this would be
