The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and SSHRC have
announced the creation of a $500,000 program of international
development grants for young Canadian researchers. In three years, the
annual total of grants awarded will rise to $1 million.
The program is aimed at "new" scholars and post-doctoral fellows
supported by SSHRC. It is designed to encourage young Canadian
researchers across the country to study emerging issues that will
determine the future of relations between Canada and the nations of Asia
and Latin America.
IDRC funding will take the form of top-up grants that will enable
researchers to obtain release time from teaching to pursue their
research and fellowship holders to work in the field for purposes of
research.
Complete program and application details are available from SSHRC's web
site at: http://www.sshrc.ca.
