                June 3, 4 and 5,  1999 
        For the 1999 conference the Association for Canadian and Quebec
Literatures'  principal theme will be:
        In Other Words:  Re-readings, Translations and Adaptations of the
Literature of the Twentieth Century.
        In addition, interested parties are also encouraged to submit proposals
for joint sessions with other associations on the following themes:

Writers of the Eastern Townships
 Dramatic Literature in the University  Curricula
Space and Place.
  
Proposals should be in the form of a 300-word abstract. Final papers should
be no more than 12 pages (for a 20-minute presentation).   Email a single
copy or mail three copies of your submission to the address below:

        Voici le thème principal du prochain congrès de l'Association des
littératures canadiennes et québécoise :
	
En d'autres mots : re-lectures, traductions et adaptations de textes
littéraires du XXe siècle.

        Nous invitons les autres associations présentes à ce Congrès à nous
soumettre des propositions d'ateliers conjoints sur ce thème ou sur les
suivants :

- les écrivains des Cantons de l'Est
        - la place de la dramaturgie dans les programmes universitaires
        - lieux et espaces
	
Les propositions de communication ne doivent pas dépasser 300 mots. La
communication elle-même doit durer au maximum 20 minutes (12 pages). Faire
parvenir un exemplaire de toute proposition par courriel ou trois
exemplaires par la poste à :
