The Theatre Centre opens its season with Augusta Company's production of
insomnia. Created by DANIEL BROOKS and GUILLERMO VERDECCHIA, insomnia
represents their first collaboration since the memorable Noam Chomsky
Lectures (1992) in which BROOKS and VERDECCHIA explored the ways Western
business, government and media manufacture consent and stifle debate.  In
the same spirit of theatrical exploration, adventure and risk, Augusta
Company unveils its newest creation.  insomnia has undergone a rigorous and
caring development process, including an initial  session in December, 1995
and an extensive, 8-week workshop in May, 1996.  insomnia is ready for
anything.


"Doubt, doubt, doubt."  The opening words conjure an anxious and
unpredictable world.

A man can't sleep.
Neither can his wife.
The woman he loves can't stay awake.
Her husband can't satisfy his hunger.


"I'll have to teach you how to walk again.  You'll have to unlearn
everything you know. Relearn how you smile, what you think when you look at
the moon, how you kiss your child in the morning..."
