Please let me introduce myself to you. My name is Clair Sedore. I am the
author of a book on 50 years of theatre in Toronto, New York and London,
called "Give 'Em The Old Razzle Dazzle (50 Years of Theatre and

 I spent many years doing the bookkeeping for Global Village Theatre and A
Space here in Toronto, including Government Grant forms etc., so have a
good knowledge of the workings of theatre, as well as being an insatiable
theatre fan. I realize what our theatrical industry is missing and would
like to offer my help by way of a new important newsletter.
THIS IS TO INTRODUCE A NEW EZINE CALLED "CURTAIN UP," (Job Postings for
Theatre,Television and Films) - an email subscription ezine (or snail mail
at a slightly higher fee due to postage),  covering career opportunities in
theatre and films, including auditions, show openings, work shops and
classes, playwrights, grants, volunteers needed, voice overs, career
opportunities, film projects including extras, including "out of town. "
THIS IS A MUST FOR ACTORS,MUSICIANS,DESIGNERS AND TECHNICIANS.

Our first issue was sent out FEBRUARY 1, 1999, and will be sent out the
15th and 30th of each month thereafter, with a HOT LIST being sent out in
case of a very important notification.
Deadline for postings are the 10th of the month for the 15th Issue, and the
25th of the month for the 30th Issue.
ALL LISTINGS FOR THEATRES, FILM COMPANIES ETC., ARE FREE up to 100 words.
Information should include date, time, place, phone number(s), fax (if
wanted), name of contact person, email address, etc.
All you have to do is email927121 at ican.net with the information about your
auditions, show openings, job opportunities, volunteers needed, etc., to us
before the date listed above and we will include your announcement in our
next issue.
SUBSCRIPTIONS ARE $20.00 PER YEAR (24 issues) by Email, or $30.00 per year
by snail mail, or 35.00 year by FAX

This is a letter I received which showed me the need for such an ezine:

your newsletter? I can tell you, Clair, that to my knowledge, no one else
on the Internet provides such content [except for Playbill's Casting and
Jobs page in the U.S.]. I think it would be an excellent addition to your
newsletter, would raise its appeal to industry professionals as well as
theatre lovers, and increase your exposure. For example, Inklings, which is
a free newsletter to writers, has over 20,000 subscribers now.
It would sure make me want to subscribe".
Our goal is to provide reliable information for theatres, actors,
technicians, designers, playwrights, and all others interested in the
theatrical arts.
