To Everyone in the Toronto area:
ONE-NIGHT STAND: An evening of readings by Toronto Playwrights. November 22,
8:00pm at the Factory Studio Theatre Cafe.
After an amazing sold out show in September, ONE NIGHT STAND, an evening of
play readings, returns to the Factory Studio Theatre Café on November 22.
Once again, the showcase will feature readings of works-in-progress by
several Playwright's Union of Canada (PUC) members.
This month we have a number of up and coming playwrights who are involved
with various Playwright Labs through out the city: Lindsay Price is working
with Factory Theatre, Samantha Wright with Tarragon and Corrina Hodgson with
Buddies in Bad Times. The event starts at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $8.00 and are
available at the door.
The proceeds from the evening will go towards the fundraising efforts of the
Women's Caucus of the PUC. They are raising funds send members to the
International Conference of Women Playwrights in Athens in the year 2000.
Canadian playwrights are becoming increasingly prominent on the world stage
and the Caucus hopes to send a sizeable delegation.
The next ONE-NIGHT STAND event will be held in January. This is an amazing
opportunity to see new works before anyone else in the city. Arrive early to
ensure a ticket!
