Hello All
The response for links to be added to the new canadiantheatre.com Links
Warehouse was phenomenal and with the link-back deal should increase traffic
and improve the overall site. (The more people who visit us, the more things
get corrected/updated, etc.)
I have to mention this: one of my internet heroes is playwright Greg Nelson
(he designed the magnificent PUC site, Theatre Calgary's efficient site and
his own site http://www.puc.ca/gnelson/ is a marvel of good taste). This
week I got, in my e-mail, a newsletter for Theatre Calgary; the contact? The
ubiquitous Mr. Nelson. This is one of those brilliant uses of the internet
that I get all excited about. Everytime I get depressed over the fact that
Centaur doesn't even know how to pick up their e-mail at yahoo.com, I think
of Greg's work and the many ways Canadian theatres can use this relatively
cheap technology. Do you realize that the newsletter costs Theatre Calgary
virtually nothing to send out and I read the thing (even with the mountains
of junk mail I receive!)? Bless them all and congratulations Greg!
Things were very quiet at the calendar (Sakstachewan? no news...).
I talked, months ago, about a surprise new feature. The surprise is coming;
the work on it proceeds.
Meanwhile, if you would like a copy of the entire list of profiles, I can
send it to you by e-mail. Also if, for teaching etc., you'd like all the
Thea-Tricks questions and answers since the beginning, that's available too.
(Both at no charge like all services provided by the canadiantheatre.com.)
Also, don't forget Heavenly Voices for your regional news, job postings or
audition calls. (http://www.canadiantheatre.com/heavenlyvoices.html)
And announce your show!
(http://www.canadiantheatre.com/calendar/calendarguidlines.html) If you want
to see what a typical region's and month's line-up can look like go to
(http://www.canadiantheatre.com/calendar/atse99.html)
Register your link too!
