Hello all

This week we cleaned up the Links Warehouse, among other things. It's a
horror story, the state of the relationship between theatre companies and
the Web in this country. About 15 companies had to be removed because they
let their links perish with no forwarding address to a new site (if there is
one). This is in the mere four months since the Warehouse was created! The
usual suspects continue to maintain sites which suffice to show how backward
(and, arguably, "unhip") they are. Some sites have plonked information about
the new season in a pile of "Under construction" banners. However, some of
the smaller companies make an effort that surpasses the main houses
(compare, for instance, London Community Players
<http://www.execulink.com/~daphar/lcp.htm> to the mess that is Centaur
<http://www.interclik.com/centaur/>). I know for a fact that some companies
will whine that they have volunteers doing the work... You don't put someone
who doesn't know Kleenex from a $5 bill in the boxoffice. Creating and
maintaining a web site is not rocket science; take it from a guy who, if the
sciences and advanced math hadn't become optional in Quebec highschools in
1971, would still be worrying about a date to the prom...
